Treatment Options At Glazer Spine Center

Integrated Chiropractic

Since Dr. Glazer opened his doors in 1997, the practice of Chiropractic has been his primary focus. As we have evolved and expanded over the last 25 years, and as the Chiropractic profession as evolved, Dr. Glazer has always approached Chiropractic Medicine as a central aspect of long term health and physical performance, and has remained on the leading edge of providers in his profession. Diagnostic X-Rays, spinal and extremity adjustments, ultrasound therapy, PEMF (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Frequency) therapy, laser therapy, ultrasound, targeted exercises and stretches, neuromuscular and postural correction, massage, low frequency electrical stimulation, and a holistic understanding of the body’s healing processes are some of the tools in the chiropractic toolbox that make it an integral part of any recovery plan and healthy lifestyle. For many people, these treatments are enough to get back to, or maintain, a pain free daily life with occasional follow up care. Part of the concept of Integrated Chiropractic, is recognizing and addressing any potential limitations of the specialty, and embracing treatment and therapeutic options available through the medical model. You can have your cake and eat it too! For the instances where traditional Chiropractic care is just not going to cut it, we can turn to additional treatment options to meet our patients wherever they are on the road to recovery.

Spinal decompression

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression using the FDA Approved DRX-9000 machine is a safe alternative to surgery for patients with herniated or bulging discs in their lower back. During each thirty minute session, the disc spaces between each vertebra are gently stretched, creating negative pressure in the disc. This gentle negative pressure draws blood, oxygen, and nutrients into the spine, helping your body to repair itself while getting relief from daily pain and discomfort.

Numbness or tingling sensations, pain in the lower back and extremities, muscle spasms, loss of mobility, shooting pains, and difficulty standing or sitting can all be caused by a herniated disc or bulging disc in your lower back. If you have tried traditional chiropractic care already, or if you have been treating with physical therapy or your primary care doctor, have been taking pain medication, or have already been referred to a surgeon, Spinal Decompression can bring relief without injections, surgery, downtime, or medication.

Physical Therapy

With over 230k Physical Therapists and almost forty thousand PT clinics in the United States, there is obviously a lot of love for this rapidly growing profession. The physical therapy program at Glazer Spine Center offers targeted, goal-based rehab exercises and modalities in a one-on-one setting with a Physical Therapist or PTA, so patients can get the most out of their treatment time. With so many busy big name franchise clinics to choose from, we set ourselves apart with personalized attention, the same provider at each visit, and a great atmosphere to help patients relax and enjoy their appointments. Whether Physical Therapy has been prescribed by your doctor for the treatment of back pain, neck pain, a shoulder, hip, or knee injury, or post-surgical rehab, we are excited to be your rehab home of choice!

objective measurements

As a Patient Experience Centered Practice, the feedback we get from our patients in terms of how they are feeling, what is working for them, and overall progress is the most important tool we have to guide clinical decision making. With that being said, technological advancements in outpatient care that can provide objective data are a useful resource for tracking patient progress, which can sometimes be the difference between feeling discouraged and “seeing the light at the end of the tunnel” during injury recovery. Muscle strength and Range of Motion testing utilizing our cutting-edge equipment and software is an excellent way to establish a patient baseline (the “before”), and coupled with periodic re-testing, can give us insight into what is or isn’t working for each patient, to ensure everyone gets the “after” they are working towards.

Pain Management

Dr. Glazer has worked throughout his career to cultivate excellent working relationships with colleagues in the fields of PM&R, Sports Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and Neuropsychology. We are excited to now host Pain Management and Sports Medicine specialists in our office full time, in order to provide our patients ease of access to this often crucial part of injury recovery. Medication management, diagnostic imaging, trigger point injections, botox injections for headache and muscle spasms, ultrasound-guided joint injections, EMGs, and SI injections are all excellent diagnostic and/or treatment options for acute injury, and are now available to our patients without having to coordinate with, or travel to, another office. Let us accommodate you!

medical equipment

We carry a complete line of DME centered around the conditions we treat, so that patients do not have to coordinate with their insurance carrier or a separate distributor to get the equipment their doctor prescribes. Back braces, TENS units, corrective pillows, knee or ankle bracing and supports, foam rollers, topical pain relievers, gel hot/cold packs, and much more are all stocked in-office and available to our patients during their visits. Patients struggling with extreme discomfort or an acute injury deserve immediate solutions, not the headache of coordinating with multiple providers, insurance carriers, and supply companies.

Insurance Coverage

  • We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Priority Health. Additionally, many Health Insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, and we are always happy to guide you through the process of verifying coverage with your insurer.

  • If you were injured in a car accident or workplace incident, it can be intimidating (and frustrating) to work out who is responsible for what, and to then find providers willing to deal with the insurance companies. We will work directly with your insurance company to take the guesswork out of this process, and alleviate some of the headache so you can focus on recovery.

  • Everyone deserves access to quality care, regardless of their insurance situation. We happily offer payment plans and discount prepaid packages, so that all of our patients can prioritize their health.
